Alsatian and Burgundian varieties simply shine in South Moravia. Jaroslav Osička's lush, opulent, Pinot Gris has all the concentration the grape can muster with a wonderful streak of bright mineral acidity. It is not so fresh, giving aromas of brioche, baking spice and banana custard. The lees aging and oxidative vinification might fool even experienced drinkers that they were drinking a fine Jura white.
